Our family dog, Alpha, has been such a great addition to our home! Alpha came from Germany, and she is well-behaved, affectionate and extremely watchful over all of us. German Shepherd Watchdogs found the perfect dog for our lifestyle and needs when they brought Alpha to us. Having Alpha in our home gives us peace of mind, because she won’t let an unwelcome stranger near us. She knows the difference between a threatening or unexpected presence, and just a welcome visitor. Someone tried to come through our gate onto our back property unannounced while we were gone for a couple of hours, and Alpha quickly backed them right off the property and out the gate! She didn’t bite the stranger, she just got close, barked, stared him down and backed him up. He was coming to look at trees, but he hadn’t told us he was coming and Alpha did not know him —so, she did exactly what we would have wanted her to do. We couldn’t be happier with our loving companion and we are really grateful to German Shepherd Watchdogs for finding Alpha for our family.

I am a K9 Officer for a Northern California Police Department. My Department is one of several in the area that use John Riboni’s talents in dog selection and training. John has a great knack for putting the right dog with the right person.

Knowing this, when I was assigned as a K9 handler I only had one request of him when selecting my dog. I knew that whatever dog he picked would do the job well, so I asked for a dog that would do well around my kids. His choice was a perfect match.

My dog, Drago, has turned into an excellent Police dog since we began patrolling together in 2006. He is also a wonderful family dog at home. He can go from a night of necessary aggressive behavior chasing and deterring criminals, to cuddling with my girls at home. He is even friendly and safe around the many guests we have in our home. I feel safe knowing that my partner will protect me at work and protect my family at home, but not be unpredictable when we have friends over.

I started in the sport of Schutzhund many years ago and John Riboni was one of the first people I met. At that time John was a “decoy/helper” here in Southern California and would help us train our dogs in all phases of the sport and would always stress “temperament” as one of the most important qualities to look for in your dog.

Over the years I have purchased many dogs from John and to this day I can say he has an uncompromising ability to pick the right dog for the right person and their needs. In each and every case not only are they good looking dogs but all have the perfect temperament to fit that person’s situation, in my case it is the sport of Schutzhund and family.
